As production continues on Season 2 of The Prophecy of the Hanging Gardens, I want to share a small but exciting update: this season will highlight Aztec history, culture, and mythology..
Season 2 has always been planned as the “fire” season, reflecting intense passion and transformation in the narrative. To achieve this responsibly, I’m spending a significant amount of time in research mode: delving deep into Aztec cosmology, understanding the rich tapestry of deity symbolism, cultural practices, and historical timelines, and exploring the ways these compelling stories were preserved and passed down through generations. This kind of research isn’t fast; it requires patience and diligence as I sift through ancient texts and modern interpretations alike. It isn’t surface-level either; it involves a profound engagement with the material that challenges assumptions and opens new avenues of understanding. And it shouldn’t be; the complexity and depth of these themes deserve careful consideration to truly honor their significance within the narrative. Each element I uncover will contribute to a more vibrant and authentic portrayal, ensuring that the stories told are not only captivating but also respectful of their origins.
While I love to weave in real historical facts, this series was never meant to portray real history in a traditional sense. Instead, it was designed to highlight important ethnic struggles and explore alternative events from ancient histories that we have no real way to know exactly what happened. By delving into these narratives, I aim to create a tapestry that not only acknowledges the complexities of our past but also resonates with contemporary issues faced by various cultures. I want to bring a connection to all peoples in a way that encourages deep contemplation about unity and humility. Through rich storytelling, readers can reflect on how shared experiences can bind us together, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding across different backgrounds and histories. My hope is that, by examining these alternative perspectives, we can spark conversations that bridge divides and promote a collective appreciation for our diverse heritages.
While Season 2 is in development, I’m also actively producing the graphic adaptation episodes for Season 1. These visual episodes take time, but they’re worth it — they bring the world of the Prophecy to life in a new, cinematic way.
Both projects are moving forward, and I’m excited to share more soon. For now, just know this:
Season 2 is coming, and it promises to be a thrilling continuation of the narrative. It’s deeply rooted in fire, ancestry, and myth from an ancient civilization that has fascinated many for years. The intricate tales of this civilization weave a tapestry of legends and beliefs, each story holding secrets that echo through time. The research behind it is shaping something powerful, unearthing not only captivating narratives but also the profound impacts these historical themes have on our understanding of modern society. As the release date approaches, excitement builds around how these elements will intertwine to create a visually stunning and emotionally resonant experience for the audience.
More updates soon.. The prophecy continues.
